Jack Bowen and Kendall Byrnes Represented the Qld Cylclones at the exciting super 8 tournament in Sydney last weekend,having 3 fights each in 3 days.
Bowen was stepping out of the 75kg division for this tournament and moved up in weight to box against the NSW State champion,New Zealand champion and against team S.A in the 81kg division,winning 3 fights in 3 days to become the “Super 8s”Champion.
Kendall Byrnes won 2 from 3 starts in the tournament and again also stepped up a weight division to 64kg rather than her usual 60kg division.
The division was tight with 2 girls both topping the competition with 2 wins a piece.
Jack and Kendall are both senior athletes and QLD academy of sport boxers who aim for big things in 2019 with their hearts set on progressing through the qualification process to represent Australia at the world championships.
