In a night where I believe we had done enough to win 5 out of 7 bouts, you could say there were some strange decisions.
The team carried themselves exceptionally before and after the fights, regardless of if the decision was for or against them.
The Elite males were excited due to not wearing headguards for the first time where our Novice,Youth and female boxers still wore the headguard as with the new rules of Aiba.
Special mentions on fight night must go to Nigel Tuapola in his first ever match, Matilda Shaw and Jack Bowen.
Nigel totally outclassed his more experienced opponent with his southpaw skills and effective movements.
Matilda dominated the 3 rounds with nice rear hands to the body ,but with very good preparation to set up her clean attacks.
Jack Bowen put on a masterclass performance, reminiscent of his club mate, Damien Hooper. Jack boxed with extreme skill and class throughout and for a 17 yr old to give 4kg away and box against a 29 yr old man,he showed excellent maturity.
Just about to head into the city for a look then back for lunch and video analysis of last night’s fights before we head in to tonights battle.
