September 20 was a huge night for The Boxing Shop team when Liam Hutchinson, who has been with us since he was 14 yrs old,won the Professional Queensland jnr middleweight title over Michael Dan at the Irish Club in Brisbane.
Liam won the bout with skills and class and was a convincing winner over 8 rounds for the title.
” Michael is a tough boy” said trainer,Gareth Williams “he has a big heart and boxes well on the front foot”.
Hutchinson did everything asked of him,he touched and set up his shots, moved his head and upperbody and went down to work the left rip to the liver nicely.
It was a complete performance by Liam,he has had some great sparring in the lead up to this and everything came together on the night.
Experienced referee Derek Millham and Cricket Legend Ian Healy had some great things to say about Liam and his future, which is very positive and rewarding to hear about such a young professional boxer at only 20 years old.
Liam will be back in the Gym on Tuesday with his preparation starting for his next fight at the RNA showgrounds on November 16th against Will Sands .
A hugethanks to Liams Sponsors for his Qld title, Terry Brennan from Relay Consulting,Doyles,ISD,Hutchinson Builders and Kane Pearson from the BLF as well as all family, friends and supporters who helped came along to support.
